Where an AI agent fits in your business

Start with a clear task, connected information, and a human handoff.

Choose a narrow first task

An agent is most useful when its purpose is clear. Answering common service questions, collecting inquiry details, or helping someone request a booking are practical starting points. Define the information the agent can use and the actions it can take. A focused assistant is easier to evaluate than one asked to manage every part of a business.

Connect accurate information

The assistant needs current information about services, availability, and business rules. Decide which system is the source for each answer, who maintains it, and how updates reach the agent. If the required information is missing, the assistant should explain the limitation and offer a clear next step rather than guessing.

Control actions and provide a handoff

Separate answering a question from changing a booking, creating an order, or updating customer records. Confirm details before taking consequential actions and give the agent only the access it needs. Make it easy to reach a person, especially when a request is unusual or the customer wants help beyond the agent's scope.

Evaluate before widening the scope

Test everyday questions, incomplete requests, and situations where information conflicts. Check whether the assistant follows the business rules and whether its handoff is useful. Review failures and improve the knowledge source or workflow. Expand responsibilities only when the first task works reliably enough for your business.
